Bryn Clark, Licensed Acupuncturist, Diplomate in Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM)
Founder of New Harmony Center, Bryn is dedicated to helping patients awaken to their full potential. Anchored in the wisdom of ancient traditions of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine he brings a creative and insightful approach to healing any medical condition. Bryn became a respected leader in his profession, serves among the leadership of his profession, and values creating collaborative healing relationships with the other medical practitioners who are serving his patients.
Bryn certified in Japanese Shiatsu in 1991 at the International School of Shiatsu (Doylestown, PA) and practiced with physicians in Philadelphia after earning his clinical Master’s degree in Acupuncture (in 1998) from the Traditional Acupuncture Institute, now the Maryland University of Integrative Health (http://www.muih.edu/). He received his Diplomate in Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) in 2006, having already been Board Certified in both Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology. He is also certified in Japanese Toyo Hari (1998), a very gentle and effective form of Japanese acupuncture which uses silver needles above the skin. This form of acupuncture has been especially useful with his pediatric patients and those uncomfortable with needles. Bryn recently completed specialty certification in TCM Dermatology.
He has steadily maintained his clinical practice since 1991, caring for clients in Maryland and Pennsylvania until 2002, when he returned to be closer family rooted on Boston’s North Shore. In addition to providing services through New Harmony Center, Bryn sees patients at Well Life Medical in Peabody, MA on Wednesdays.
Eric Brooks, Licensed Acupuncturist, MAOM, RYT
Eric graduated from the New England School of Acupuncture (NESA) with a Masters Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. He holds a Diplomate in Oriental Medicine by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). His training includes Chinese and Japanese Style of Acupuncture, Orthopedic Acupuncture, Tui Na, Qi-Gong, and Chinese Herbal Medicine. He has practiced at several hospitals and clinics in the Boston area including Boston Medical Center (Boston), Lemuel Shattuck Hospital (Jamaica Plain), and the New England School of Acupuncture Teaching Clinic (Newton Campus, Worcester Campus).
Before attending Acupuncture school, Eric received his Bachelors B.A in Philosophy with a Certificate in Buddhist studies from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. During his undergraduate time, he decided to further his interest in Buddhist philosophy by going on a 2-year retreat at the Odiyan Buddhist Retreat Center & Monastery in Northern California. While living at the Monastery he studied the Tibetan Language, Tibetan style Yoga, and various other Buddhist Meditation practices.
Shortly after returning to school and graduating, Eric began his yoga teacher training with Triyoga Boston where he earned a 200-hour Yoga-Alliance-Certification. He continued his yoga studies in Nepal with a 500 hr training at the Himalayan International Yoga Academy and Research Center and also completed his training in Thai and Ayurvedic Massage.
Eric has a specialty in treating orthopedic conditions and enjoys a passion for helping patients to return to full health and wellness.
Kate Ruma, Licensed Acupuncturist, Dipl. Ac., Dipl. C.H
Kate Ruma is a board certified acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist licensed by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine and certified by the National Commission for Certification in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. She has over 18 years experience treating fertility, women’s health issues, pregnancy issues, back pain, neck pain, sciatica, allergies, sports injuries, digestive issues, headaches, chronic pain, autoimmune diseases, pediatrics and more.
Kate had an article published in Acupuncture Today titled Acupuncture Proven to Increase Chances of Getting Pregnant (acupuncturetoday.com) and held a teaching position at the New England School of Acupuncture. Also, she has completed clinical research in gynecology at Harvard Medical School and The New England School of Acupuncture.
Kate has a passion for educating patients about the tremendous benefits of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine as an integral part of today’s healthcare system.
Karen Schwartz, Licensed Acupuncturist
Karen Schwartz, LAc, has been improving the well being of her clients through acupuncture for over 20 years. A graduate of the New England School of Acupuncture in Newton, MA, she combines Chinese and Japanese styles of acupuncture to provide the most effective treatment for her clients.
Karen sees clients through her private practice based at New Harmony Center for Health & Wellness. She previously practiced at First Choice Health Center in Beverly, MA. She is licensed with the Board of Registration in Medicine of Massachusetts and is a nationally accredited acupuncturist.
Karen has been a swimming instructor at the YMCA of the North Shore since 2003.
